Our Family Christmas Celebration

We had a special Christmas with more than 30 of our family members here and especially enjoyed watching these three great grandchildren who were together for the first time. Emmy (left – born May 16) and Stetson (right – born April 29) were here for our summer gathering in early June, but Waylon (center – born June 17) arrived a few days later.

Come on guys. Emmy is smiling, why do you look so serious.

Bennett though he should be part of the photo shoot too and laid down in front of the babies. πŸ™‚ He is Waylon’s big brother.

I was in the kitchen when someone called me to the garage where Stetson and Waylon were laughing and talking to each other.

They were so funny. Each time one laughed because the other giggled and bobbed his head, the other laughed. Then they began “talking” to each other. We wondered what they were saying and if they understood each other.

Sisters: Jenna, Gloria and Diana. I believe Diana is holding Waylon – her own little guy. Jenna (left) told us that she and Dustan are expecting a new baby in mid-June. Dustan and Drake were not here because Drake was dealing with a cold.

Visiting before lunch.

Lunch is ready. Our daughters (Diane and Deb) each helping their mother-in-law get lunch. Left is Joanne and Diane. Right, Deb is getting Barb’s meal. Deb was responsible for the organization of this meal. She, Diane, Chris and Kristen made sure we didn’t have to do too much.

We had a baked potato and salad bar. Abby (front right) is expecting a baby in February. At this point we are expecting two new great grandchildren next year. πŸ™‚

Most of the dessert was provided by grandchildren.

Kayla and Lydia entertained Stetson and Emmy while Cerwin and I prepared for the slide show. We usually show about 400 old photos that seem to entertain everyone.

We had so much fun with the little ones that I forgot to take any pictures when we played Now-You-Have-It-Now-You Don’t. We use large foam dice to determine when gifts are moved or kept. Whatever they take home is a gift from us – along with the money gift we give each person.

I find it fascinating that little ones always seem to know when they are reacting to another little person.

Cerwin and I treasure the noise and busyness of this day.
