Zach and Gloria’s Wedding

Posed photos were taken before the 4:00 PM wedding in a woodsy meadow on a pretty fall evening.

Gloria (our youngest granddaughter) and her Zach. We are delighted to add this handsome, thoughtful and kind young man into our family. They are now Zach and Gloria Sylvester.

The wedding party. You will notice in many photos that I was taking advantage of the photographer’s posed shots – while trying to stay out of their way – so eyes are often on the photographers.

Our son, Jeff, could often be found taking care of Waylon while Waylon’s mom was in the wedding party and his dad was occupied with keeping big brother Bennett from getting his wedding pants and shirt dirty.

Great Grandpa Cerwin also enjoyed the same duty when the photographers needed Jeff for a photo. Waylon is our youngest great grandchild, but someone will take that place next spring when our 12th great grandchild is due.

The wedding party moving to a new location.

Jeff and Chris’ entire family.

Siblings: Jenna, Jordan, Gloria, Nathan and Diana

The girls: Nicole, Jenna, Gloria, Diana and Lauree

Donovan and Diana with their boys – Bennett and Waylon.

Jenna and Dustan

Their daughter, Jade.

Doesn’t that picture remind you of this quote? πŸ™‚

“On days when I feel inadequate and my crown is crooked, I remember that I am a daughter of a King, adjust my crown and get on with the day.”

Their son Drake – with cute, spiked hair

The wedding arch

Almost 4:00 pm. They planned a small wedding of about 40, then a larger reception of 120.

Gloria and her dad – soon ready to walk down the aisle.

Jade was intent on dropping petals while Bennett had his eyes on his mom.

These two pictures may be my favorites from the wedding because the joy is so real, with Diana telling Bennett to go sit with his daddy and Jenna and Jade doing a high five.

Following this, both children went to sit with their dads.

Here comes the bride – and her father

After the wedding, Jade showed me her basket of petals. She was a bit upset that some were left in the basket.

She thought she was supposed to empty the basket by throwing them all on the ground. She had a very short aisle, so that would have been very difficult unless she threw them down by handfuls. πŸ™‚

When the wedding service was over, we drove to the reception area – the barn which was about a 1/4 mile away on the same property. Some of the wedding party and others were playing cornhole when we got there.

The barn was beautifully decorated.

We were at Table 1 with other grandparents, Jeff and Chris and her brother Dave and Amy.

The wedding party’s table

The talented and pretty photographers. If you recognize them, they took our family photos earlier this year. Heather assisted by her sister Valarae.

We were encouraged to write encouraging notes to Zach and Gloria.

Jere, Kristen and their daughter Jana were putting the finishing touches on their charcuterie tables. Our garden tea and the water are closest to the camera.

Amazing and delicious do not adequately describe all these delicacies.

Finished and ready for everyone to enjoy prior to the meal.

Jere, Kristen and Jana. I expect you are familiar with our family. If not, this is our youngest son, his wife and their daughter.

The main course was served to us by food trucks: Skips and What’s for Supper. One featured chicken and the other served beef. Each had sides like French fries or coleslaw. The old Mustang was rented for the wedding by Zach’s family.

Following supper, it was time for dancing and celebrating their marriage.

We were at the opposite side of the barn, and I didn’t want to get in the way of people and the photographers, so I switched to black and white for sharper pictures – which I took from a distance.

Zach and Jade had fun dancing.

I heard that Bennett also enjoyed dancing with Zach, but by then there were too many people in that area. πŸ™‚

Zach and Gloria, there is nobody who wishes you a blessed and happy marriage more than Grandpa and Grandma High. Just keep on serving God and respecting each other like you do today.
