Because they no longer make a quilt auction booklet and need a photo of the highest selling quilt from the previous year, I no longer have to make sure I have a photo of every quilt – freeing me to take pictures as I wish. It is much more relaxing.
I was going to stop taking pictures at this auction, but they asked if I would just take phots for my own pleasure and submit them to a committee member so websites, etc. could be updated as needed. There are a few others who take pictures, giving them a nice variety of shots.
This year I took a lot of close ups of the quilts.
There’s something I like about old fashioned block quilts. Maybe because they remind me of my grandmothers.
The featured quilt.
I always marvel at the beauty of these quilts and the skilled hands of those who create the beauty.
I have only done a few quilt stitches but would rather do counted cross stitch. My fingers don’t seem to have the skill to quilt neatly.
Love that featured quilt. Any idea how much it sold for?
I do not know what it brought. I didn’t stay for the auction this year.
There are some really beautiful quilts in this group. I wish I could have wandered through the exhibit, and perhaps even purchased a quilt!
You could have found one to buy. 🙂
I’m sure I could have, but they’re probably out of my price range! They’re all so beautiful — wonderful material for dreams!
