The beautiful late afternoon called me to go outside with my camera.

This cornfield is just below our house and along the road where I walk on nice afternoons.

The corn tassels have done their job and produced the pollen that encourages the growth and ripening of the corn ears.

The ears are as large as they are going to get and beginning to brown in preparation for harvest.

The corn is tall, but not as tall as some years due to lack of rain. Some years I can only see the roof of our house when I return from my short walk.
