We saw a heron at the farm pond earlier in the day, so stopped to see if it was still there when we came home. At first, we thought it was gone then there it was right in front of us – instead of in back of the pond where we last saw it!

We surprised it as much as it surprised us.

These with the shadows are so neat.

Then, just like that it was gone.

I took all those pictures in less than a minute. My first and last photo say 2:48 PM.
