This was about a week ago, when I wanted to get a good shot of the barrels under the raft which my brothers built. For that reason, I walked toward the remains of the raft and one foot sank into the muck! I discovered that only the top was dry. 🙂
I had to reach about a foot or more into the muck to retrieve my shoe. 🙂
Since I was already sitting on the ground (or dried muck), I took a few pictures.
After getting these “close to the ground” shots, I went home, changed clothing and cleaned up my very mucky leg. I even had some muck on my camera.
I went back two hours later to see what was happening.
The excavator was deep in the muck. I can’t imagine how he didn’t get stuck.
We thought there might be snapping turtles in the pond, but they never came across any. They did see frogs.
I took my camera along on the 26th (about 2:00 PM) to get updated shots.
By now the muck was gone and they were working on shaping the new pond.
The drain that comes from across the road with a box to gather and control excess field water.
What a horrible surprise to step right into that muck thinking it was dry! Once they scooped most of it away, though, it seems it dried out quickly! I’m glad you weren’t hurt!
It was a surprise – and a bit funny. 🙂
