Mark and Diane were here to celebrate his mother’s 90th birthday on August 14. When Diane learned that our congregations’ 250th anniversary was going to be celebrated the following weekend, she planned to stay for another week while Mark went back to Maine with their daughter Hannah.
One of the extra benefits for Diane was time with best friends who grew up with her. She and Karen Wagner (left) went out for supper one evening. When Karen came in the house after their meal, I said, “You finally came home after all these years.” 🙂 Karen spent a lot of time at our house when she was a young girl. It’s not unusual for them to go out to eat when Diane is here, but I don’t usually get to see Karen.
When Diane saw Barb, another childhood friend, at the Kreider Meetinghouse on Saturday evening, she asked me to take a picture of them. Barb is married to a minister and lives an hour or two away from us. They also treasure their childhood friendship.
It’s always good to be able to reconnect with childhood friends! -Juanita
Always!
