Sunday, August 7
Each fall our church family shares our harvest or buys things for local food banks and non-profit organizations that need food.
This year, in addition to that, those who have farms and gardens are encouraged to bring their excess to the fellowship hall and share it with our church family.
We have gotten fresh green beans twice. This Sunday when it was announced that the harvest included flowers, I nudged Cerwin and told him that he can get me free flowers. 🙂 He did.
I love sunflowers! We expect these came from Mary Kathryn who raises lots and lots of flowers. She was sitting close to me and when I asked, she acknowledged that she brought some.
We have been so blessed with fresh produce from our neighbors. My freezer has more home=frozen things than I’ve had in it in years! Corn, wine berries, sour cherries, rhubarb. We had peaches, too, but ate them fresh. God is so good!
God is indeed good!
Those are lovely flowers — and how nice that they are farm excess!
Yes and yes.
