We had some other responsibilities and a busy week, so were only able to attend on Thursday evening.
This year’s study and activities were centered on the country of Australia.
The theme verse for the week.
This song brought out a lot of activity and joyous singing.
Several children were on the pulpit showing the others how to do the motions.
There were lots of motions by the children – in the benches and in the aisles.
It was easy to tell that this was one of their favorite songs.
One of the superintendents, Tyler Heisey, gave instructions, helped with reciting the theme verse, and introduced the animal study for the evening.
He shared a few unique features of the Koala bear.
James Martin had Bible reading and prayer.
When opening devotions were finished, Tyler asked what was next. The children shouted, “Story Time!”
Because this was the only night we attended, I missed the full storyline, but it was centered around a game show. I think this scene is when the girl on the right quit her job because she was not happy at this place of employment.
Deitrick (center) did such a good job of talking with an Australian accent that we were almost surprised to hear him speaking in his usual accent a few days later when he led singing on Sunday morning. 🙂
The children helped the actors solve the questions.
After they went to their classrooms, I went outside to get a closeup shot of the 2 kangaroos who were visiting Bible School.
They are young, but I still wouldn’t want them scratching me with their claws.
I was glad I went outside early, because it was almost impossible to see them after Bible School.
After finishing my photography, I went back inside to listen to my brother Steve teach the adult class.
When Bible School was over for the evening, everyone was invited to go outside to enjoy some Rita’s Italian Ice. I chose the mango flavor that Kris was serving.
What fun for the kids!
They sure do seem to enjoy Bible School and the teachers put in a lot of time to make it fun and a learning experience about the Bible.
I like it that you have a class for the adults, too. We didn’t do that in our church.
We enjoy that too.
What a wonderful program! And how special, to have a class for adults – so parents who bring children are ministered to as well. I will mention that at church – we get an average of 400 kids for VBS and a good number of them are from unchurched homes.
We enjoy having an adult class available.
Our little church here in north Idaho used that same program. We loved it! “Come on and join the gang and grab your boomerang”.
It seems that was a popular program this summer.
