While I was outside enjoying the evening air, I looked at our trees and thought about their height.
Most of the ones you see in these pictures were here when we built our house in 1967 – fifty-five years ago. We added a few when we took the ash trees down in recent years, but they are closer to the road and are also getting tall.
This is the time of year when the leaves are dark and large.
The hickory trees are especially tall.
I felt small as I walked toward the house.
I hope those trees are healthy and will not fall in a high wind!
The tree probably won’t fall in a high wind, but it sometimes whips the large branches around and brings them down.
I guess that’s ok as long as the falling branches aren’t too big!
