It’s always takes something creative when Cerwin and I try to celebrate special days because we have been married very long and have mutual bank and credit card accounts.
I teased him last week that I would take him to a steakhouse for Father’s Day if he loaned me some money. Then, I remembered I had a gift card for Outback Steakhouse from my birthday. Although, I expect Zach and Gloria expected I would use if for both of us and that I wouldn’t go alone. 🙂
We left early to do a few things and take a few photos for our church’s 250th anniversary as a congregation. I will wait until after the celebration in August to show those pictures.
We love this place and did enjoy our meals. He usually gets a 6 oz. filet mignon and I choose something that includes shrimp. Nothing changed this time.
We stopped at a garage sale on the way home to pick up two pies we ordered. If you know Nancy Sauder Stoltzfus, you know that she makes the BEST pies.
The next morning, we went to Nate and Abby’s (granddaughter) to see the RV Nate has been working on for many months. He bought this refer box truck with the intent of turning it into a RV.
It’s about ready for their trip to Montana. I never cease to marvel at his mechanical and other skills in anything he does, but this creation amazes me.
After this Cerwin took me to a few more places to photograph “stuff” for our church’s anniversary.
That RV rig looks pretty sturdy — I hope Nate and Aabby have a good trip to Montana!
Sturdy is a good description. They made it safely to Montana, now they are spending 2 weeks helping his brother and sister-in-law build a house in the wilderness. I think it will be off grid, but I expect it will be equipped with solar panels and satilite connections. It looks large and well-constructed.
