I was surprised when our Amish friend Rachel called this morning to say her mother had my teddy bears and pillows finished. I just gave the clothing to her last Wednesday.
The teddy bears were made from my wedding dress, Cerwin’s wedding suit and his sister Velda’s bridesmaid dress. The bow tie was Cerwin’s and the belly buttons are buttons from his suit. They will go to our four children.
The 5 mixed pillows were made from my mother’s wedding dress and a shirt of my dad’s – from later in life. They are for my siblings and me. The light blue pillow is from Velda’s bridesmaid’s dress and will go to her. The two small, fancy pillows were pockets from Mother’s wedding dress and will go to my sister and me.
Everything is even better than I imagined.
What a great idea — they all came out beautifully, and I especially love the teddy bears!
Yes, I am pleased with everything – and do love the bears.
They all turned out soooo lovely!! What talent! What a gift!
I am anxious to meet the lady who made them. I expect to see her tomorrow.
BEAUTIFUL!!!! What an inspired idea!
I love the idea of making pillows and bears from loved one’s clothing.
They are beautiful and will be family heirlooms for a long time.
Yes, I am very pleased with the results.
How did she ever accomplish this beautiful and complicated project in such a short time? Treasures! I couldn’t get into my wedding dress with a packet of pins and a bungee cord or two.
I was surprised to hear that they were finished already.
They are absolutely beautiful! Great idea!
I am so pleased with them.
