Our last midweek excursion for 2021.
Our first stop was at Michael’s Craft Store where I dropped off a counted cross-stitch piece for framing. This piece was of an impala – a photo that was taken when we visited Africa in 2018.
Next we went to Costo where I needed a few things and Cerwin wanted to get his glasses adjusted.
The highlight of our day was lunch with Roy, Deb and Barb at their favorite local restaurant – CR Lapp’s. We had never been there.
Deb and Barb
Me, Roy, Deb, Barb – after our meals arrived.
Cerwin got a “glorified” hamburger and fries. I saw the dessert list, so chose a baked potato with butter and sour cream.
Roy also wanted dessert, so chose a cup of chicken corn soup.
My lemon sponge pie. Oh, yum!
Roy’s apple pie
When we arrived at Roy and Deb’s we noticed a large crow near their driveway entrance. My friend Janet thought it might be a raven so I asked, “What’s That Bird” on Facebook. They said it is a black vulture.
Deb thought it was a vulture.
Deb and I enjoyed a short visit in Barb’s home while Roy and Cerwin loaded tools that Cerwin brought here for building a deck and ramp for Barb’s house.
It was a good and productive day.
I’d love to see a photo of your counted cross stitch when you get it back! You have a LOT of good looking places to eat lunches — ours are mostly big chains or way too expensive! And that looks like a huge crow — could it be a raven instead?
It could be a raven. I too thought it was a large crow. I will take a picture of the framed impala when I get it back.
Janet. “What’s That Bird” on Facebook said it is a Black Vulture.
Oh, my goodness — thank you! I wouldn’t have ever thought of a vulture — but whatever it is has gorgeous wing feathers!
I am used to seeing turkey buzzards. They look quite different than this vulture.
