They left Tennessee early Thursday and arrived here about 12 hours later – a normal drive from their house to ours.

These pictures are from the next day when we took them to Texas Roadhouse in Palmyra for their 2021 birthday celebrations. They love to shop at BB’s near Schaefferstown and find bargains, so we timed our day to go to BB’s first then to the steakhouse for a 3 pm supper.

If you think they are beaming, it’s because they are expecting their first baby – a boy – in mid-May. That means we will become great grandparents three more times next spring – with due dates of May 17, May 19, and June 13.

It was fun learning more about what has been happening in their lives since their April wedding. She is a pediatric nurse and he is an over-the-road truck repairman.

Because his parents were also coming, Heze and Kayla slept in our basement office. We are getting rid of some desks and file cabinets, so the next time we have two sets of houseguests, there will be an air mattress sofa bed in our basement. It is arriving this Friday. It has a regular mattress on the bottom with an air mattress on top – making it more comfortable than a regular sofa bed.

Our place is about the mid-point between Maine and Tennessee and with three of the Myers children living in Pennsylvania this is a good place for their Christmas celebration. They usually time it when we have our family Christmas lunch, but that didn’t work out this year.
