As you know, I rarely post anything the same day I take a picture, but I just had to post tonight’s sunset!
I keep reading and hearing about how important it to take time to rest and enjoy the beauty around us as we get involved in the busyness of Christmas. When I looked out the window, I saw this and just had to go outside with my camera.
It was refreshing to walk outside, see this sky and breathe in the cool evening air.
I have been busy all day, getting ready for the first of our Christmas get-togethers.
Most of the Myers are here and four of them are staying in our house. That is so much fun for us. Heze and Kayla arrived from Tennessee on Thursday and Mark, Diane and Hannah arrived from Maine last night.
Our area is a midway spot for their family – between Tennessee and Maine and three of their children: Josiah, Abby and Lydia live nearby. Their family had a Christmas celebration today – at their daughter’s Abby’s house – and they are spending time with Mark’s mother this evening. She lives two hours away – near Hanover, PA.
Tomorrow they will be here for lunch. We invited our local children and grandchildren to stop in for a dessert bar – about 4 pm. Many will be able to come, but it didn’t suit everyone – the reason our other family Christmas will be on the 19th.
Thank you, God, for reminding me that You are in control. This felt like a loving hug from Jesus.
Oh, my, what a spectacularly magnificent sunset! Does it foretell snow, or not yet?
No, I think a red sky at night is a sailor’s delight. Tomorrow is supposed to be cool but nice.
Breathtaking! A friend who lives in the Shenandoah Valley posted very similar pictures of the sunset there this evening as well.
We often have pretty sunsets, but this one took my breath away.
