We had a lot of stops today, so planned our day accordingly. First we stopped at Nate and Abby’s to return an eraser to Anthony that he left at our place the week before – when he was doing school work. Then I took an Amazon return to a local hardware store where it will be picked up.
We had promised Gloria (granddaughter) that we would stop by the pharmacy where she works to say hi. It is not in our usual travel area, thus we had not done it before.
I think it was in June, when I was telling her about our midweek excursions and she asked us to add her to one of our travel days. We were busy with the yard over summer and did not plan these special, short trips. Now we are thinking up ideas again for the fall and winter.
After leaving her, we went to Country Table (Mount Joy) for sandwiches. I chose haddock. Cerwin had a cheeseburger.
Before leaving, we went to the next room to their bake shop to buy a few items.
It was a pretty, sunny day and the leaves were still rather pretty. I thought you many enjoy our drive to the next location – which was to pick up my Vitamin D prescription at a Lititz Pharmacy.
These mules were pulling a baler – just over a slight hill so I couldn’t get a full photo.
We took a back road, scenic route toward the village of Clay to get ice cream at Fox Meadows Creamery.
After getting the ice cream, we noticed a farmer harvesting soy beans along Route 322.
Ready to turn toward home.
Home again
Our bake shop purchases: Small Mince and Pumpkin Pies and two Raisin-Filled Cookies.
Cerwin and I shared a raisin cookie after getting home, then shared the second one with coffee the next morning. They were delicious. After eating the last one, Cerwin said, “Why did we only get two.” 🙂
What a beautiful drive!
Yes. I was glad I had my camera along.
I like your mid-week excursion! A lot of variety, and errands done along the way! For some reason, I think of your area as not very hilly — I was surprised to see the hills on this drive! And it looks as if your fall colors are almost finished!
We do live in a hilly area – the reason Amish didn’t live here for many years. The leaves are really going downhill in color and many of the trees are bare already.
Doris Jean and Cerwin I love the way you have a mid week excursion! That’s such a cool thing to do in a fun way to spend time together! U2 are a positive testimony to aging with grace and fun?. Connie K.
Thank you. We love being retired with time to do thing like this.
