Living Hope International Ministries Banquet

Thursday Evening, October 28 at Shady Maple Restaurant

As we move into winter, we will again try to do something interesting about the middle of most weeks. At least on weeks that aren’t busy. During the summertime we have yard work and enjoy a vacation or two, which means we don’t feel the need to get out of the house.

We started doing this mid-week outing during COVID in 2020 – after a few months of not going anywhere. We even had church by Zoom. After a few months, I started feeling housebound – like I needed to go somewhere. At first we just drove somewhere – not getting out of the car – and often picked up a few groceries – curbside.

Cerwin still picks up milk samples for DHIA two mornings a week and doesn’t feel the need to get out of the house as much as I do. But he seems to enjoy this outing as much as I do. Now we do things as simple as getting groceries in stores we seldom visit, or maybe go to specialty stores for meat and groceries. I do love being retired. 🙂

Several weeks ago we were invited to this banquet by friends who had purchased meals for a table of 8 – giving them an opportunity to invite friends who may not know about this ministry. We looked at our schedule and felt like this would be a great way to spend our middle of the week excursion.

Following a delicious meal by Shady Maple Restaurant, we enjoyed listening to Ransom Bluegrass.

Later there was an update – using slides – on the ministry’s work in Ghana, Africa. We were impressed with the work they are doing through evangelism, caring for orphans, school projects, medical care and church planting.

Thanks, Nelson and Nancy for introducing us to this ministry.
