We left the Myers shortly before 6 am – ready for a 10-hour drive to our house. That includes about an hour for fuel and meal stops.
It was a beautiful morning. The geese were even up early.
It takes about an hour to get to Piscataqua River Bridge – between Maine and New Hampshire on I-95 – from Mark and Diane’s house.
The sun was making itself known.
The leaves are pretty, but still not peak in this area.
The prettiest part of our drive was on I-90 near the Berkshires in New York.
The elevation probably had something to do with that.
The drive home was a lot more normal than our drive north a few days earlier. We did have a few times where there was construction (or road painting) when traffic narrowed to one lane, but there were no accidents this time.
As we got into southern New York there was a notable change in the color of the leaves.
Hudson River
Pennsylvania had even less color. It was a relaxing drive to home. We got to our house about 4 pm.
Ooh, those trees really are pretty at that higher elevation (and a bit farther north, too)! That’s a long drive home, but so much varied scenery to keep it interesting!
That was the prettiest area of colored tree that we have seen so far this year.
