Tuesdays are Mark’s usual day off in his workweek, making it easy to celebrate his special day. Their daughter Hannah also had the day off from the dairy farm and came for a 10 am brunch.
Diane made an egg casserole with leftover potatoes and steak from our lunch in New Hampshire – the day before. There were also some Brussel’s sprouts from that meal in this dish.
Hannah was feeling strong from her farm work and challenged her dad to an arm wrestling contest.
I guess she will have to work harder at the farm.
Since Mark is into eating avocados, Diane bought him a game called Avocado Smash. It is fast-moving and fun.
Later in the day we went for a mid-afternoon meal (we considered it supper) because of their evening plans.
This was our gift to Mark for his birthday and to Hannah who has a birthday on the 18th.
I needed an updated picture of Mark and Diane for our refrigerator, so thought this was a great opportunity as the lighting in the restaurant was fairly good.
I also needed a new one of Hannah.
She liked this series of photos, so I thought I would post each one. š
Diane’s chicken. I think she had a salad with it.
Cerwin’s twice baked potatoes
Mark had French Onion soup, fried mushrooms and fried green beans.
Hannah had fish. I think it was salmon.
However, mine was the best – Lobster Stew. Oh, it was delicious! The baked potato was also quite good.

I will continue the next part of our day in my next post. Mark, Diane, and Hannah went on a sunset hot air balloon ride. It was a birthday gift from his family last year when he turned 60. However, it was postponed by COVID and earlier this year due to weather. This time the weather was perfect.
That first picture of Mark and Diane is exceptionally good! Love it!
I thought so too.
I look forward to seeing that balloon ride — something I’ve long wanted to do!
Do it! It is a great experience. We went about 19 years ago.
