After we got home from our lunch, Deb asked her dad if he would like to drive their convertible. He was delighted to do that!
Cerwin and Deb
While getting into the car, we heard a noisy hawk above us.
Cerwin felt like he was having an “old age crisis” as he remembered the days when he had a convertible.
We dated in his 1959 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. This photo was taken in Florida when on our honeymoon. (1963)
Sunday afternoon horse and buggies.
I think he was choosing a flower for one of the girls.
We ended up at what Roy and Deb call “Deer Park”. This is where small orphaned fawns are placed after they are ready for a small, fenced-in woods.
After we got inside the fence, Roy and Deb called for them to come for a snack. Before long there was a nice group of young deer. Most were orphaned when their mom was killed on a road. A few others were found hungry and alone, in an area where it became obvious that its mother had died.
Their snack consisted of grapes.
Deb wanted to show us how they run and play.
The bucks were beginning to show signs of emerging antlers.
The reason they are called whitetail deer. When they run, their tails go up in the air. The underside of their tails are almost totally white.
Then we were on our way again.
After this ride, we left a few things with Roy and Deb and they sent a few things with us.
We saw a few more Amish carriages as we traveled toward home.
After getting home, I went through the bags and found a loaf of banana bread. It was delicious!
Thanks, Roy and Deb, for a delightful afternoon and the delicious banana bread.
