We had 212 Winross and model trucks in boxes in our home office – donated for TFC’s 2020 Truck Rally auction – which didn’t happen because of COVID.
Sometime after deciding to bring the Rally’s to a permanent close earlier this year, we remembered that we had all these Winross and model trucks in our office basement. What were we going to do with them?
The other week I mentioned to Cerwin that we could call our friend Jim who collects and sells Winross. Cerwin liked the idea so I emailed Jim last week and told him about our Winross “collection” and asked if he was interested in them at a certain price per truck. He replied, “Yes, I am interested in them.”
I checked with the International Office if that kind of transaction was okay. She replied, “Yes.”
On Friday Cerwin and I put them out on tables in our garage to make sure they were okay and so Jim could see them. He was pleased with what he saw and took each one. 🙂

No more rallies? Wow!
Yes! It actually feels good to bring that part of our lives to a close. They were fabulous years.
Did you donate or sell them? We have a small collection
We sold them.
What an amazing collection!
We would receive donations of these model trucks through out the years and sold 144 at each Truck Rally auction.
Good collector’s items are a great fund-raising item!
Mom and I often wonder what happened.to Dad’s collector friends and if anyone was still collecting the Windows trucks. One of our family vacations was to Rochester NY to the Winross factory.
There are still a lot of collectors. 🙂
I was a screen printer at Winross from 94-97. I printed a lot of the American racing scene trucks. Cool job.
