6:30 AM. We heard them before we saw them – equipment that was oil and chipping our road.
You will notice how tall the corn is getting in the fields that surround our house.
Most of the vehicles belonged to Martin Paving (below) – there were a few Penn Township vehicles (above) as well, since we live in Penn Township.
6:55 AM. Watching this brought back memories to Cerwin of 60 years ago when he worked for Rohrer’s Quarry and he was the one driving the dump truck (backwards) and putting stones on the road.
Cerwin thinks these are Hurst dump trucks.
By the time I took mail to the mailbox at 9 am, our part of the road was finished.
Cerwin was fascinated by the equipment and how quickly this work is done today compared to 60 years ago.
That corn has grown really fast — it looks as if it will soon be ready for harvest?
We have had enough rain and sunshine to keep it growing nicely. It will still get a bit taller and the ears are only beginning to develop. How are you doing. Give me an update on my email tfcner@dejazzd.com. I’ve been praying for you.
