We were honored to be invited to Glenn and Phoebe’s place to hear The Werner Family Bluegrass Band.
I loved their creative stage area.
Cerwin enjoyed seeing the old tractors. Glenn told Cerwin that this was his dad’s first tractor. It originally had steel wheels.
I told Cerwin to pretend he was cranking it because he matched the tractor. π
They have a perfect setting for a concert in the yard.
We heard the Werner Family Band a year ago when we were invited to another concert in the yard. Notice the one with bare feet.
They are incredibly talented in playing instruments and singing.
This concert was a 2020 Christmas gift to Glenn and Phoebe from their children. Glenn and Phoebe are on lawn chairs in their driveway. I think I see them on the right.
It was especially fun for us to be here, as we met several friends we haven’t seen in many years. Cerwin spent his teenage years in this area and thought he and Glenn met when they were 12 or 13 – after his family moved here. Several years later they began hunting together in Potter County. They hunted whitetail deer together each fall for about 50 years – along with some of Glenn’s brothers and friends.
The children and grandchildren served soft ice cream and pretzels.
More in my next post.
What a gareat place to have a holiday weekend concert! And how nice that you were invited to attend! It looks as if the weather was nice, too — I hope that held through the weekend!
It was a beautiful evening in all ways. There was a quick shower in the afternoon, but it was a perfect evening for a concert.
Did they rent the ice cream maker? Or maybe they own one?
I didn’t ask, but I expect they rented it.
What a great idea!
I agree. π
