This is How We Spent Saturday Morning

Late in the week I noticed that my friend Nancy announced on Facebook that there was a neighborhood yard/garage sale – mentioning that she had pies for sale. We love pies (and I’ve heard that she makes good ones), I ordered a mixed berry. When we were there, we also got a red raspberry pie.

She tops her pies with the berry that is inside, thus this one had three berries on it.

This was part of Cerwin’s Father’s Day gift. Oh, my, her pies are delicious.

From there we went to Lititz Family Cupboard for the rest of Cerwin’s gift. Saturday morning breakfast.

He was intrigued by this breakfast sandwich, so ordered it: scrapple, eggs, and sweet potato fries. He loved it. Because it was large, he brought half of it home.

I ordered four sides: 1 poached egg, an English muffin, bacon and a small orange juice.

Shortly after our order came, this old pickup truck pulled into a parking spot just outside the window next to us. I would recognize it anywhere. It is our son Jeff’s old Chevy.

Cerwin called him to come and join us. However, he was having breakfast with their sons Jordan (right) and Nate (back to camera). It was fun seeing them and getting hugs before we left for our next appointment. When Cerwin stopped at their table on our way out, Jeff grabbed our bill and said, “Happy Father’s Day.” 🙂

As we were leaving the restaurant this young Amish couple crossed the road in front of us.

They had a scooter packed behind their seats.

We followed them for a bit as we traveled toward Lititz.

As we approached Mount Joy, we came upon another Amish buggy. I couldn’t resist getting a picture of these cute children.

We picked up TFC Global’s tractor at the garage where Cerwin took it on Friday for repairs before a driver could take it to Florida – to bring a chapel back to the shop.

He made sure there was enough air in the tires before calling Patrick (the driver) to tell him the truck was ready for Monday morning.

BTW: We just heard this afternoon (Thursday) that it made the trip to Florida and back. PTL.

While Cerwin spent about 45 minutes prepping the tractor for the Florida trip, I walked around TFC Global’s parking lot looking for beauty around the edges – especially between TFC Global and Armstrong where the area is made up of trees and weeds.

The milkweed was in full bloom.

This guy was enjoying a tasty milkweed leaf.

The pollinators were busy doing their work.

We accomplished all of that and were home by 11:00 am.
