Our daughter Diane arrived (from Maine) late Sunday afternoon to spend three weeks with us and assisting her daughter Abigail’s family whose baby was due on the 16th. There are also other events that are going to give her a fun schedule.

Nate, Abby, Cerwin and Diane

Diane went directly to Nathaniel and Abby’s house and before long Abby called to see if it suited us to come for supper. They were ordering pizza. Yes, that suited us! 🙂 They live about 2 miles away.

When Diane got to our place after the pizza supper, she discovered Mother’s Day flowers and a few other things from some of her children. They knew she would have more time to enjoy them here – then if they sent them to Maine a week earlier.

I was thankful that Diane was here, because she was able to take my place a few times in helping Cerwin put a new door on our shed.

Anthony and Jazzy spent a few nights here as their mom prepared for their sister’s arrival. Anthony loves when Diane reads to him and she enjoys the opportunity to do grandma things with him and Jazzy. She is usually 500 miles away.

He loves to help and is quite helpful.

Jazzy preferred watching from the garage door.

We woke up to the wonderful news that our great granddaughter Natalie Joy had arrived – 6 days after her due date.

Diane and I delivered a TFC Global mailing to the Lititz Post Office, went to the grocery store, then stopped at a new Amish-owned greenhouse not far from our house.

I needed a few flowers and vines to put in a planter near our front door. Diane got a pretty hanging plant for Nate and Abby.

I also needed 3 geraniums for the flowerbed in front of our house. It adds nice color to the gray siding and stone on the exterior.

While planting flowers, I noticed that our Yarrow was in full bloom.

When Diane and I took Anthony and Jazzy on an afternoon walk and I showed them the tiny blades of corn coming up through the no-till soil.

Saturday was a beautiful day for raking and baling Jacob’s rye.

A young man was driving the tractor while Jacob arranged the bales. During a break Diane enjoyed talking to Jacob.

It was Anthony’s turn to make muffins.

Did you notice that he got a hair cut during the week? He and Jazzy went home for a night and he came back with short hair.

When Cerwin mentioned that he was going to wash our cars, Diane wondered if he could add a 3rd one. Anthony was glad to help.

Diane was pleased to get a photo with the new bride and groom – our granddaughter, Jana, and her brand new husband, Austin. This was the day Jana changed her last name from High to Garber. We are delighted to have him join our family. Details in the next few days.

I am pleased anytime our four children are in one spot, because it doesn’t happen very often. Jere, Deb, Diane and Jeff. I am hoping that our four in-loves will be in one spot in two weeks – when I can get picture of all eight of them.
