A Birthday Party for Bennett

~~~
Sunday Afternoon, April 18
~~~

Bennett’s parents treated everyone to a lunch of sandwiches, macaroni salad, chips and juice – while Bennett finished his late morning nap.

His cousin Jade was delighted when he woke up and was anxious to help him walk around the parking lot at the home of Bennett’s Grandpa and Grandma Sensenig.

Bennett’s first job was to open his presents – with the help of his dad (Donovan) and mom (Diana). The little girl is a Sensenig cousin.

It is kind of difficult for a one-year-old to not play with each toy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ribbons are fun too.

Some of the guys played a game of corn hole while Bennett opened his gifts.

This one will take a bit of assembly by dad.

I wish I thought about taking a picture of the antique school desk (you can see a bit of it to the right of Donovan) that was given to Bennett by a friend from New Jersey. Tommy told me that it was his desk when he was a little boy.

This is a bank. Bennett was more interested in the money that came with it – which is why he is looking down.

Before long a few of Bennett’s Sensenig cousins got closer to watch. Jade noticed and came closer too, looking for a place to sit with the others. They found space for her. ๐Ÿ™‚

Everyone is interested in this gift.

When he was finished, Great Grandma Wells showed him one of his new books – about the same time a late gift arrived.

Time for his birthday cake.

He was anxious to get his fingers into it – while we sang “Happy Birthday” to him.

He must have wondered why everyone was watching and taking pictures of him. ๐Ÿ™‚

When Bennett was finished, we were all treated to ice cream and chocolate chip cookies.

Thanks, Donovan and Diana for including us in his birthday celebration.
