Saturday Evening, April 10

Cerwin and I were looking forward to this evening at Yoder’s, because we did not have to be involved in the planning of the program. 🙂
When ordering tickets, we had a choice of two meats: chicken or beef. Cerwin chose beef, I chose chicken.
Ron Fraser, TFC Global President and CEO, welcomed everyone, gave a bit of ministry information and served as MC for the evening.
Derek Thompson, Director of Gateway to Freedom, recently joined TFC Global to head our human trafficking awareness initiative.
Steve Wingfield of Steve Wingfield Ministries is joining TFC Global in planning the Victory Weekend Truck Show at Lebanon Expo on Saturday, June 26.

The TFC Lancaster Chapter and Truck Rally Committees have chosen to retire and pass on their 47-year tradition of planning a banquet each year and 38-year-tradition of planning a Truck Rally each June to TFC Global’s Headquarters Office who will begin a new look for both events.
The audience enjoyed listening to contemporary recording artist Julie Nevel from the Harrisburg, PA, area.
Cerwin and I were asked to shred TFC Global’s mortgage which was recently paid off – after 16 years. I asked Ron if he wanted some drama. He said, “Sure, do what ever you want.” I couldn’t think of anything dramatic, so I opted to make the the shredding fun for the two youngest people in the audience. John is the son of board member Steve Demme and his wife Sandra. Grace is the daughter of Harrisburg Chaplain Robert Barton and his wife Stacy.
Cerwin opened with a few highlights from the construction of the office and shop in 2005, before shredding his first piece of paper. (There were 10 pieces.) He had 5 and I had 5.
I looked through my 5 pieces of paper while waiting to go on stage, to see if there was anything interesting. I noticed a note at the top of each piece of paper – MORTAGE CONTINUED. When John Demme put the last piece of paper in the shredder, I mentioned that and said, “MORTAGE DISCONTINUED. 🙂
What a wonderful evening — congratulations on “Mortgage Discontinued”!
Yes, a paid mortgage is always a good thing. 🙂
