A Fun Day with Anthony and Jasmine

These two were here for about a two hours – and watching a children’s program on TV – when Jasmine began crying. Since this was her first time here without her mom, we were pleased that she was happy that long.

We tried a variety of things – Anthony even hugged her – to no avail. Then Anthony said, “Maybe she wants her nook (pacifier).” That made her smile – and the tears were over. πŸ™‚

Following a grilled cheese sandwich lunch, we took advantage of the beautiful day to work in a flowerbed. Grandpa and Anthony went to the shed to get a few things. Anthony came back with daffodils for me.

Jazzy wanted to help, so I found 3 little plastic sprinkling cans and filled them with small weeds and leaves. She had fun dumping them into the wheelbarrow.

After they finished picking up sticks, Anthony asked Grandpa to throw some balls for him to bat.

Anthony loves our little red maple tree for climbing.

Jazzy found a stick – probably from the tree where Anthony was playing – and brought it to the wheelbarrow.

The photo makes the tiny branch look very close to her eye. It wasn’t as dangerous as it looks – and it was safely transferred to the wheelbarrow. It didn’t fit very well, so Anthony put it over his knee and broke it. πŸ™‚ (Missed a photo of that.)

Rocks are a fun place for playing.

Jazzy wanted to climb the tree as well, so Great Grandpa came to her assistance.

Grandpa was ready to relax, so he and Anthony played tick-tac-toe with the cement set our granddaughter Hannah made for us many years ago.

Abby came back from her appointment and a bit of shopping about the time they put the tick-tac-toe away.

I thank God many times that we have lived long enough to enjoy great grandchildren. When Abby has their next baby, in several weeks, we will have eight great grandchildren.
