It isn’t often that one of our cardinals is at the feeder close to our kitchen window in good lighting. This one cooperated nicely.
A male Downy Woodpecker at the mealy worm suet.
It looks like it must have been windy as its feathers are out of place.
We were driving home from town one day when an Amish neighbor was coming toward us on at T road. (This picture was between the bird pictures in my file, so I decided to keep it there.)
Female Red-bellied Woodpecker
You can tell it’s a female, because there are gray feathers between the red cap and her beak. A male’s red cap goes from the back of its head to its beak.
I never tire of watching these beautiful creatures.
