The fellowship meal was prepared by our deacon team with most of the work done on Saturday.
I went to the fellowship hall early to catch our deacons and their wives at work. Some of the men were unloading the refrigerated truck which was storing some of the things that needed to stay cold.
Lelan with a tray of sandwiches.
There were chicken salad and ham and cheese sandwiches.
Coffee corner
Placing trays, tubs and baskets of food on the table. Everything was prepackaged for health safety.
As they were finishing the setup, I went back to the sanctuary to look for photo opportunities.
There were many groups of people visiting.
Cerwin and Pete Hernley in a deep conversation.
Tables were prepared in the fellowship hall, the SS class behind the fellowship hall, an overflow area of the sanctuary and in four SS Class rooms.
The deacons said, “Everything is ready.”
The food pickup started just before 11:30 am – a few minutes early.
The first group to go through the line was those who were taking their lunch home or to a member of the church who couldn’t be there due to illness or surgery.
Others continued to visit. Amy, Martha and Mary Kathryn.
After the take-home group was finished the rest of the people went through the two lines.
The deacons and their wives kept a close watch on the trays – ready to refill as soon as needed. Katrina and Nancy.
Phyllis (right) assisted families with several small children.
A filled tray: chips, cookies (baked by people in the congregation), fruit salad (made by people in the congregation), applesauce, celery & carrots, cubed cheese, pickles, sandwich, and water.
Hudson checking out a bag of pickles.
I told Cerwin to not wait on me because I would be taking pictures. He listened. 🙂
I think John and Arlene noticed that I was taking pictures. 🙂
My youth group prayer partner – Siena – in flowered top, helping a young friend.
The line ended just after noon.
I went to the Sunday School class rooms to see who was there. I teased them about paying for private dining. 🙂
There were a few groups of people in a sanctuary overflow area.
Some were finished eating and visiting in the sanctuary.
Those in the fellowship hall lingered and visited and were invited to go back for seconds.
