Because of the feedback on my two Facebook posts: “Doris Jean High” and “Pennsylvania Photography with UncoveringPA”, I called Karen to see if we could look through the rubble for a few “memory” tiles.
She said we could and that she and Larry had already gotten a few to use as stepping stones in a flowerbed at the farm.
I hadn’t thought about rescuing a few and was glad for the people who encouraged us to do so.
Cerwin and I found two whole tiles and two pieces that will work for our flower beds.
This one remained intact with full thickness.
There was another one that had a full top, but not full thickness and two pieces that will work well in our patio garden. I put them next to my dad’s last work shoes. The shoes have been in this flowerbed since he died in 1997.
We will arrange these next spring when we get the flowerbeds ready for the summer.
