I am fascinated by our little, decorative pear tree this year. Maybe because it is one of the few trees in our woodlot that still has leaves.
We planted it a few years ago – with money from our family – in memory of Cerwin’s mother. However, we don’t remember that the leaves stayed so long and were this pretty.
The leaves are not only colored, they are kind of glossy.
Why don’t we remember this from other years? It is in our front yard and we drive by it or walk by it every time we come and go
Who doesn’t like finding interesting things among ordinary things in ones own yard?
I noticed the ones around here have hung onto their leaves longer than usual also. They are the first to blossom and leaf out in the spring and now (except for the beech trees which hang onto their leaves until spring), they are the last to lose their leaves. Interesting to say the least.
I noticed today, that they are slowly dropping and aren’t as pretty as they were when I took the pictures.
