The final day of butternut squash harvest.
It was amazing to watch them continue to fill trailers. By my calculations they harvested a total of eight or nine trailers.
They finished the harvest by 2:30 in the afternoon.
By early evening Jacob had already begun planting a winter grass – probably rye.
He was still planting when I went to bed and by morning it appeared that his job was finished.
The only sign that it had been a field of butternut squash just a few days earlier were a few squashed squash.
My word — that seems like a never-ending harvest! What a lot of squash there was in that crop!
Jacob had an amazing crop this year.
