Maybe it’s because the leaves are so pretty this year, or maybe it’s because I have time to notice them, I am enjoying walking around our yard on warm fall days and trying to capture pretty pictures in the afternoon sun.
Did you know ivy gets flowers? I just learned that these are ivy blooms.
When I was out taking pictures of leaves I noticed the ivy was blooming. Was I too busy to notice other years, or is this the first year it has blossoms?
Years ago, when we started the memory garden at the back of our yard, our son Jeff placed a pitch fork against the tree and planted a bit of ivy.
The tree can hardly be called a tree anymore because it only has one or two small branches. The other branches succumbed to spring and winter storms. Today the ivy is about the only thing alive on the large tree – as it has totally covered the trunk. I would like Cerwin to cut it down, but because two tiny branches give leaves each summer, he doesn’t want to take it down. π
I digress – on to pretty leaves in our woods.
I am probably boring you with pretty leaves, but I find them so fascinating this year.
I like it to God is so good and wonderful Amen
Amen!
Your pretty leaves are never boring — for me they are something of wonder, since we have so few deciduous leaves that turn such pretty colors! The first time I saw an Eastern fall, my dad told me I’d love the colorful trees — unfortunately, it was an early fall that year, and by the time I got there for college all I saw was “dead trees.” The second year was a little better, but those were the only two times I was in that area in the fall, so your photos are great for me to marvel at π . And I had no idea that ivy flowers — ours is always green and leafy, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ivy flower!
So glad you enjoy the leaf pictures – there may be a few more.
