It was the delightful afternoon that invited me to go outside and see what was happening in our end-of-summer yard.
These morning-glory-type flowers are growing on the bank along the road. I think it is a wild flower of some sort.
They are small as morning glories go.
Another end-of-summer flower is growing on a perennial at the southeast side of our house.
I don’t know what it is called. We planted it many years ago. Maybe someone knows the name.
I didn’t notice the grasshopper until I got closer.
Oh, yikes. I didn’t expect to see this. That means we will have even more grasshoppers. 🙂
I haven’t seen or heard many cicadas this year, but this empty shell on a new blossom tells me they are indeed here.
Not many leaves have begun turning colors, but that is changing each day.
Go outside and see what you can find by looking at things in a closeup way.
The first flower does look like morning glories — is the second one Queen Anne’s Lace? Those are great shots of the grasshoppers!
No, it’s not Queen Anne’s Lace, because I know that. My mother introduced me to Queen Anne’s Lace when I was young.
