My favorite bird feeder this summer is this one I found at Tractor Supply. It holds round suet that I also purchased at Tractor Supply. This one is popular with the Downy Woodpeckers.
The red-headed woodpecker also likes this suet. My only problem is that the starlings also like is, so if I notice starlings, I bring the feeder inside.
One thing I enjoy on warm summer evenings is going out on the patio before going to bed to see and hear what is going on in our valley and in the sky. On this particular night I noticed that the steeple on the Reformed Church was lit up and looking pretty.
I love the beauty of our valley in the daytime and at night.
That steeple really is pretty when it’s lit up!
It looks especially pretty on a quiet, warm summer evening.
Hey Doris, why do you not feed the starlings? Im thing a starling is a bird? ? Just curious! ?Hope you have a blessed day!!
They get their fill, Pam. 🙂 They come in flocks and clean out my bird seed. If it has been raining and the seed is wet, I let them at it so I can put fresh stuff out. 🙂
