The field of butternut squash across the road from our house.
It is delightful to see lots of yellow blossoms – especially in the early morning sunshine.
How about this for a view? This is the view from our dining room window – facing south. The golden tassels are breathtaking in the morning sun.
I decided to walk toward the corn and get some closeup shots.
I knew I would find corn silk and the beginning of ears.
Corn stalks, tassels and silk are beautiful when they are young, but there will be a different kind of beauty when the corn and stalks are mature later in the summer.
Lovely shots of the squash and the corn — they are growing so fast you can almost hear them growing!
We were saying that – especially about the corn – after the hot, rainy days last week.
