Because this date is always prompt, I was ready by 6:15 AM and sitting on our deck chair. He said he would be here at 6:30.
6:28 AM. I told you he would be prompt. Cerwin is out working this morning – picking up milk and silage samples for Lancaster DHIA – and knows I have a date with our youngest son – a gift for Mother’s Day.
Jere took me to Lititz Family Cupboard and told me to choose a table inside or out. I have not enjoyed outside dining here so chose that. Like many restaurants in our area, they have added a tent to their property for extra seating and allowing good social distancing.
The sweet waitress who took our picture asked us to look at each other for a different pose.
Jere’s coffee, waffles and strawberries and bacon.
My bacon, egg and cheese biscuits – and tomato juice.
I was surprised when the waitress brought me two. That means I took one home for Cerwin for brunch when he got back from work – about 10 AM.
After a great hour of visiting and getting caught up on each other’s lives, he drove me by their house to show me the latest thing he designed for their yard. He and Kristen make a great pair. She has ideas and he designs and makes it – often at little cost by using stuff in his garage/shop and things they get at a garage sale.
There was a finch pair at the feeders when I got home.
That was certainly a wonderful morning. I love every minute I get to spend with our children – especially now that life isn’t very busy for us but quite busy for them.
Happy Mother’s Day 🙂 ! What a lovely breakfast in a delightful setting!
It was so much fun.
