These are fairly invasive and spread quickly, but work perfectly in our woodlot memory garden.
From the Internet: The Gooseneck flower (Lysimachia clethroides) is native to East Asia.
Gooseneck loosestrife is a 24-to-30-inch foot tall, fast-spreading, herbaceous perennial in the primrose family.
Plants continue flowering as long as the soil stays moist and temperatures do not get too high.
It will grow in full sun or medium shade.
It gets its name from the delicate white blooms whose graceful arches bring to mind the curve of a goose’s head.
I enjoy seeing these pretty flowers in the wooded area of our lot.
This picture demonstrates whey they are called gooseneck. 🙂
Interesting flower. I have never heard of them.
They are quite popular in our area.
That’s a beautiful flower — and one that I’ve not seen before! Thank you for sharing these photos of it!
I am surprised that so many have never seen it before.
I don’t think I’ve seen them either! They do look like geese!
They must only be on the east coast. 🙂
