Sunday, June 14
Sunday School Teacher – Dwight Fahnestock
Subject – Value Wisdom
Scripture – Proverbs 2
Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge.
What good is knowledge if you don’t apply wisdom.
Listen to wisdom
Receive wisdom – “Write down my directions”
Pursue wisdom – “Go where I tell you.”
Sometimes we don’t like wisdom because we don’t want to be told that we shouldn’t do something we want to do.
Six benefits of pursuing wisdom
You will find it if you pursue it.
Protects the way of his saints
Understanding increases
Delivers you from evil men
Deliverance from immorality
Receive a special inheritance
Opening Devotions before the sermon – Luther Patches
We sang “My Anchor Holds”
Guard your soul – it will be health to your bones.
Pray for each other that we have strength to go the distance.
Graduation Sunday – Dustin Martin
Title – “Building Up the Temple”
1 Chronicles 28:1-21
Passing the Baton
When passing a baton, preparation is needed for both parties.
Graduates, you are now the youngest in the work generation.
You may hear things like, “You are not old enough.”
But, before long you will be “old enough” because there is another generation nipping at your heels.
Lay the Ground Work
David prepared a “pattern” in exact detail for his son Solomon for building the temple.
You have learned the “pattern” from the previous generation. Build on what is good.
Be Equipped
Who gave you the ability to learn? God
Be aware that you have grown up in one of the most prosperous countries and in one of the most prosperous counties in the world.
God has blessed you and equipped you with great resources.
Be faithful with the things God has given you.
Do not compare yourself with another graduate.
Trust God to keep on equipping you.
The Charge (Challenge)
Keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord
Knowledge doesn’t do you any good if you don’t apply it.
Work will always be available for you to do.
You may even be asked to do the work that a previous generation did not or could not do.
Forsaking God will never end well.
If you pursue God as hard as He pursues you, you will be successful.
