There was rain since he cut the rye on Tuesday, so this young Amish man raked this for three hours – trying to get it dried.

We thought they would bale it during the late afternoon, but it was still there when I went to bed. Cerwin went to bed an hour later and said they were baling it then. It was all baled before we woke up the next day.
So many processes — so much to think about. I’m glad they were able to get the rye baled!
I am anxious to see what they plant this year. Last year is was squash and peppers.
That’s quite a change for crop rotation! Will it be rye again next spring?
I never know what they will plant for a winter crop, but rye works in our area.
