Repairing the dairy barn roof. It was damaged several months ago during a wind storm.
One hour later it looked like this.
White-crowned Sparrow. I don’t see them very often.
Male Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Drinking from the hummingbird moat.
Female Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Young Amish man in an open Amish carriage.
I think the grosbeaks like to eat alone, because this small feeder seems to be popular with them.
Female Baltimore Oriole
Catbirds
A blue jay in the feeder just outside our kitchen window.
Ruby-throated hummingbird
Your farm photos are always interesting — that was a lot of damage to the roof, but it seems to have been repaired quickly. And I love the birds. Most are quite different than what we see here — occasionally I see an oriole — your hummingbirds and jays are different than ours, and the others are birds I never see here. I wonder if that might change over time, particularly with the shutdown!
I love seeing the birds from your area, because we don’t see them here.
Our Western Jay is similar to your blue jays, though not so brightly colored. I have seen an occasional Baltimore oriole, and a few juncos (with black crested heads), house finches (with red heads), and the shore birds that I’ve shown in various posts. Otherwise, your birds are all new to me!
You have the most fascinating views from your windows – and an amazing gift for capturing them!
I enjoy the view and often wonder what I miss, because I can’t always be at the window. 🙂
