Tuesday, April 7
Last Tuesday was a beautiful, warm day, so Cerwin and I worked on the front yard flowerbeds – mailbox, another one just to the left of the picture and the one at the dogwood tree (right). I did the one in the center of the driveway last week. We no longer have the stamina we did when we were young, so we we pace ourselves. 🙂
My favorite flower bed includes our ornamental pear tree – the one I have been photographing lately. The bush that looks dead is a crepe myrtle. It will come to life in another month or so. Then it will be pretty during the late summer.
We had some really cute visitors (granddaughter and two great-grandchildren) while we were still in the yard – but sadly they had to stay six feet away from us.
When Anthony ran toward me from their car, I wondered what he would do, but he stayed on the driveway – about 8 feet away. I said, “I think you must know about the six-foot rule.” He said, “I do.” Good job Nate and Abby.
I had dirty hands, so did not get my camera, but Abby had sent the picture of her and Jasmine a few days earlier, and the one of Anthony was from his last visit – before COVID 19 invaded our life.
Abby wanted to borrow something that I had set out for her just inside the garage door – the reason they stopped it. It was nice to see someone from our family. 🙂
After finishing our yard work, I checked out the flowerbed at the bottom of the patio steps. It has all perennials and will soon need a time of weeding and trimming.
Before Abby left, she said, “I put two cookies on your kitchen counter.” They were delicious! We had them with coffee (decaf) after supper.
It’s such a blessing to see family, even if we can’t hug them yet. We’re supposed to have snow tomorrow. I’ll be glad when Spring gets to Indiana.
Cerwin was mowing yard at the TFC office yesterday when we had a snow flurry. We didn’t have any at our house.
