Sunday School

Subject: Conclusion to our Bible Conference Weekend on Finances.

Teacher: Larry Rohrer

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8

There are 2,350 verses in the Bible that talk about finances.

Finances make up 15% of the teachings of Jesus.

We make financial decisions every day. Getting up to work – to earn money to pay bills. Things we purchase. How much we will or will not tithe.

There are good online links for financial guidelines such as: https://soundmindinvesting.com

What is true financial freedom? No debt. Planning for retirement with no need of a salary.

Make wise financial decisions today. Today is here. Tomorrow will come and go.

Subject: Do Not Trust in Riches. Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:6-10, 17-19

We will either look to God or money for our security.

Balancing our finances is like a juggler – there is always something “coming down” that needs our attention.

Balance is so important because of the tempting extremes. Being a miser or a careless spender.

Do not trust in uncertain riches.

Live generously.

If you are not trusting God or living generously, you are probably struggling spiritually.

Do not trust in riches – but in the One Who richly provides.

Do we trust God or just say we trust God?

Are we generous when money is tight?

When our level of earnings go up does our level of giving go up.

Is our savings about ourselves or about helping others?

Be a good tipper. Christians should be the best tippers.

Is there anything we have – that if God took it away – we would no longer feel that life is worth living?

Our goal should be to be generous with our time and money.

Trust God. Live generously.
