How Does the Church Community Help Me Grow Spiritually? Matthew 16:13-19, Hebrews 10:24, 25
“The Church” is the redeemed body of Christ.
Local church bodies should be bonding together to carry out the work of God and the ministry of Jesus Christ.
There is no better place to serve God and grow spiritually than in a thriving, local church.
It is easy to listen to or watch church services on cell phones, computers and TV, but that does not compare to being part of a local church fellowship.
Benefits of Being Part of a Local Church
Group Worship – singing, praying, fellowship, praise, thanksgiving
Hearing God’s Word – by Godly teachers and preachers
Unity in Worship and Prayer – being together is valuable to spiritual growth
Fellowship – small group fellowships, youth activities, doing things together strengthen relationships
Sacred Moments – baptisms, births, weddings, funerals, calling new ministers and deacons.
Spiritual Gifts – A church needs and uses a variety of spiritual gifts. We should de doing our best with our God-given gifts.
Visible Witness for Christ – welcome visitors, care about each other in our church and the community
Balance – We need other people to help us stay balanced. Left alone everyone is unbalanced. The church helps us stay accountable.
Practice the Ordinances of the Bible – communion, baptism – these cannot be done alone.
We need the supernatural grace of the body of Christ.
A local church should be a place where we grow up together.
