I spent several hours in the hospital with Nancy – giving their girls a break as they wait for Marlin (Nancy’s husband and the girls dad) to wake up following emergency, high-risk heart surgery.
His medical team was encouraged by his response to commands when they allowed him to wake up for a short period of time.
[It is two days later as I write this and he continues to improve but is still critical.] Keep him and the family in your prayers. Nancy was encouraged today during an awake time when he motioned for her to scratch his head. π
After a delicious lunch of stuffed pepper soup and seasoned biscuits, we sat in his ICU room for another hour before heading home.
Along the way I asked if she wanted coffee and a Duck Donut.
We bought extra to take home – one extra for her, an extra for me and two for Cerwin. It was a good break from hospital atmosphere.
The next day I tried to duplicate the stuffed pepper soup we had for lunch. I think I did a good job. π It is delicious.
I’m sure your visit was a real encouragement to your sister. I’ll pray her husband will recover completely.
Thank you for praying.
