The other day – as I was leaving the house to take lunch to someone – the sight of these two young deer almost took my breath away because we are not used to seeing them in our yard.
Had I not been leaving the house, I could have easily missed them.
When these pictures came up for posting today, I thanked God for the treasure of seeing them. We heard that these young twins are in our area, but this is the first time I saw them.
No one has mentioned seeing their mother – and we do wonder where she is since these two still have their spots.
Today – while on the way to stay with a friend – and listening to Christian radio – I heard this poem and Googled it to put with this post – as a reminder to you and me to treasure our days and moments – our family and friends.
It was spring but it was summer I wanted;
the warm days and the great outdoors.
It was summer but it was fall I wanted;
the colorful leaves and the cool dry air.
It was fall but it was winter I wanted;
the beautiful snow and the joy of the holiday season.
It was now winter but it was spring I wanted;
the warmth and the blossoming of nature.
I was a child but it was adulthood I wanted;
the freedom and the respect.
I was twenty but it was thirty I wanted;
to be mature and sophisticated.
I was middle-aged but it was twenty I wanted;
the youth and the free spirit.
I was retired but it was middle-age that I wanted;
the presence of mind without limitations.
My life was over but I never got what I wanted.

What a lovely post — two real treasures. I was thinking that the two were both fawns, still with their spots — I’m happy that they have each other if mother’s not around. And the poem is wonderful — shows the wisdom of age with the simplicity of youth. Thank you for sharing both of these!
You are welcome.
A poem to meditate on. Glad you were able to see the twins.
It is certainly a reminder to treasure our days.
We MUST treasure each day and PRAISE GOD for it. It seems as if we sometimes always want something different. GOD knows what we need each day.
