Tucker came running with a tiny sand crab in her hands and told her mom, “Fill my bucket with water. He needs water.”
Jesse and Ian started a sand dam for holding water.
Tucker joined them after putting her crab in a bucket of water.
Waves threatened the walls, but they kept building.
This one looks like it will do some serious damage.
After awhile they gave up trying to build a dam, and Ian decided to turn Jesse into a mummy.
Cerwin and Jere decided to get wet before we went back to the house.
A few last looks at Friday’s ocean.
That was a fun, relaxing day.
Following showers and putting our beach things away, Jere took Cerwin and me across town to visit Matt and Karen Burkholder at their beach house – and I got to hug my friend Doris Horst – Karen’s mom.
Our evening meal was waffle ice cream sandwiches.
Waffle ice cream sandwiches…….what a delicious idea!
I think my mom used to make those for a Sunday supper now and then.
I so remember building sand dams and having waves take them out! And putting sand crabs in buckets of water. That’s what the beach is all about!
Some things never change. 🙂
