Truck Rally – Afternoon Activities

Saturday, June 22

The first five pictures are of what I saw as I walked toward the fairground buildings – following the Parade of Trucks.

Making sure his truck wheels look good.

I liked his reflection in the chrome of the truck parked next to him. You can see his hat in the upper right of this picture.

West Hall was filled with vendors this year.

They found a shady area for eating their ice cream cone.

This is a popular thing at the children’s activities in the Brightbill Buildings. We printed 125 and they ran out of scavenger hunt sheets. The creative staff volunteers crossed out answers and reused sheets. 120 children finished the scavenger hunt.

Big Bright Bounces has a hit with this game of avoiding the rotating log by jumping over it or ducking under it.

Racing bikes

Jedd enjoys giving the children train rides.

Amy and her girls had a fun area for the children.

The corn bin is popular with the little ones.

Biankah wasn’t sure about the feel of corn. She liked touching it, but not sitting in it.

The face painting lines were always long when I went through the children’s activities.

The children’s program in East Hall – with Marian and Friends – was a popular place to be at 4:00 pm. This cute bird helped the children pronounce ventriloquist.

The “rat” was a favorite with the children.

Marian used the “talking” wet board to say goodbye to the children.

We served about 800 people at the 5:30 pm barbecue. Though there is other food at the fairgrounds, this is a favorite eating place for the evening meal.

My next post will feature the Saturday evening and Sunday morning programs.
