Sunday Afternoon, May 26
We planned to go to Kauffman’s (to check it out for a Sunday school outing this fall) and thought Ian, Jared and Jesse might like this for their 2019 birthday outing.
All three boys liked the idea. In this photo we are waiting for our lunch numbers to be called. Every meal is ordered individually in a cafeteria-style line.
After lunch we played a round of miniature golf.
The people ahead of us mentioned that there was a robin’s nest inside the wishing well. Of course we checked it out.
The poor mamma frantically tried to distract us.
No, Jesse didn’t aim for the water. The ball deflected from a rock.
These are the rocks that Jesse’s ball hit.
This is where Jesse kept hitting a spoke in the wheel. 🙂
If I remember correctly, Cerwin is the only one who got it through the wheel in the first shot.
Cerwin was the winner. Jesse and I were the bottom two and Ian and Jared came after Cerwin.
Just as we were finishing our ice cream/milk shakes/root beer floats – after our golf game – it began to rain so we quickly headed to the car because the windows were open.
We passed a lot of Amish carriages on the 45-minute drive home.
I think the next group of Amish young people were going camping or at least to some kind of Memorial Day weekend party.
This one pulled over so a long row of cars could pass them.
As we approached our hometown village, the sky looked threatening. Notice the road is still dry here.
As we headed north on our road, we could see the rain coming across the mountain.
The cattle at the farm are now in the area of the meadow that had been fenced off for the past year – for the wedding.
We have had rain and storms almost every day this week. There have been trees down and other damage on all sides of us, but so far we have been saved from that.
I like the simplicity of the miniature golf course and a lovely time to spend with your boys.
Thank you for sharing your drive home too
It was a very nice mini-golf course. Glad you enjoyed our drive. 🙂
That looks like a neat miniature golf game. I love the shots of that one hungry little robin! The ride home looks nice too — I love seeing all the Amish buggies. I’m so glad to see that you have missed the worst of the storms so far — I hope that continues! Be safe — and from all the political storms as well!
There is another storm coming through right now, but it doesn’t appear to be too close to us.
